March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and the Eve Appeal is calling for people to Make Time for Tea to help raise awareness and funds at the same time.
You can either host your own tea party or perhaps hold a bake sale to help to raise money for the Eve Appeal, the only national charity which raises awareness and raises funds for gynaecological cancers. The Eve Appeal is focused on developing effective methods of early detection, risk prediction and screening for these cancers which include ovarian, womb, cervical, vaginal and vulval cancer. Their aim is for fewer women to develop these cancers and for more women to survive them.
Ovarian cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women but survival rates have changed Very little since the 1970s. More than 7,000 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year and 11 women die from it every day.
If you are able to Make Time for Tea during the month of March, the Eve Appeal can send you a free fundraising pack and helpful ideas about how to promote your tea party or bake sale, and how to organise additional activities to help to raise funds. The fundraising packs also include additional materials for your tea party and there are special invitations, posters and party bunting to help ensure your day is a success.
It's a great opportunity to get together with friends and do something enjoyable, whilst also helping to raise funds for such an important cause. If you'd like to join in, you can get in touch with the Eve Appeal to find out more about how to get involved and to arrange to be sent your free fundraising pack.
